Jacqui Savage

Music Director
Jacqui graduated from the University of Maine in 2008 with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education, majoring in piano with a vocal track. Whie Jacqui was in school, she worked part time as the Organist and Youth Choir Director at Brewer's First Congregational Church in Brewer, Maine and was also Organist at Eddington Methodist Church in Eddington, Maine. After graduation, Jacqui accepted the position of Minister of Music at Standish Congregational Church where she directed the Choir, developed a Youth Choir, and played organ and piano for church services, weddings and funerals for almost 10 years. During that time, Jacqui also started her own business, Jacqui's Piano Studio, teaching private piano and voice lessons in Portland, Maine.

Today Jacqui runs a full time studio in Falmouth, Maine where she currently teaches approximately 60 students.  Her program includes recitals, group classes, master classes, and student participation in the Maine Music Teachers Association events. She is the Vice President of Programs for the Maine Music Teachers Association where she assists with organizing conferences, competitive evens, and festivals for piano students across all of Maine. Jacqui is currently the Music Director, leading our music program at First Parish, Saco which includes directing the Senior Choir and Youth Choir, accompanying the Junoir Choir, organizing the music for Worship and playing the piano and organ for Sunday Services, Funerals, and Weddings.

Music has been a significant part of Jacqui's life since a very young age, taking lessons and playing duets and two piano music as a child with her mother and grandmother. She participated in Music as much as possible in school and went to Portland Arts and Technology HIgh School for Music her senior year. Over the years, she studied the organ with well-known Organists such as Kevin Birch, Ray Cornils, and Christopher Pelonzi. She has taken piano lessons from a very young age and later studied with Baycka Voronietsky at the University of Maine, Christine Kissack of Piano Learning Center, and Laura Kargul who is the Director of Keyboard Studies at the University of Southern Maine. Jacqui believes that learning and accomplishment on instruments like the piano and organ are a life long journey, and so in addition to her teaching, she will always continue her professional development through conferences and lessons. Her 3 children also love music, playing the piano, and enjoy singing in the church Junior and Youth Choirs! Email
