Call to Worship
We gather together, waving palms of joy, waving branches of peace, eager to see Jesus, anxious for his healing touch, hoping to receive a blessing.

We gather together, waving palms of joy, waving branches of praise, longing to know abiding peace in the midst of pressing worry and hurry, longing to be accepted for who we are instead of being judged for not being or doing enough.

We gather together, waving palms of joy, waving branches of peace, hoping we are ready to walk with Jesus through the night of anguish, the morning of accusations, the noon of despair, the hours of darkness.

We gather together, waving palms of joy, waving branches of prayer, walking toward Easter offering shouts of praise and thanksgiving. Come, let us worship!

Opening Prayer
God of infinite power, we praise you for Jesus Christ, who came riding into the city of Jerusalem, victorious through love and not through violence. Help us to learn the meaning of power and of glory through Jesus, who, though being one with you, took on the form of a servant and shared our human life and sufferings. May we truly participate in life in your Kingdom, serving your children near and far. In Jesus’ name, we offer our praise and our prayer. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come. Thy
will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread and
forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation,

            forever.  Amen.
