THE ORDER OF WORSHIP

 Sunday, August 29 2010 - 10:00 A.M.
Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time

Welcome to each and all.
We are very glad you have come and we trust you will find something of substance to feed your soul in our morning worship.
Please take a moment to sign our pew pad and pass it to the next person in your pew.
When everyone has signed, please pass it back to where it has come from, taking note of the people who share the pew with you.
Perhaps further conversation may emerge for you in the fellowship time following our worship

FOCUS:         “In Jesus the service of God and the service of the least of the brethren were one.  – Dietrich Bonhoeffer

* OPENING  HYMN:                   “Joyful, Joyful”                                                  #7

* UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION:

            Compassionate God, as we prepare to share the open table of your Son, we confess the times when we have closed ourselves to your love.  Too often have we clung to our fear, our guilt, our self-hatred, rather than to let ourselves be warmed and healed by your love.  Too often have we closed our hearts, refusing to be channels of your love to others.  Too often have we been frozen like winter ice and snow.  Melt now our hearts with glow of your forgiveness, and grant us the courage to trust you; the wisdom to let your love flow through us to others; and the joy of deepening community. AMEN!
