The Community Gathers
Meditation “I am not sure exactly what heaven will be like, but I know that when we die and
it comes time for God to judge us, [God] will not ask, ‘How many good things have you done
in your life?’ rather [God] will ask, ‘How much love did you put into what you did?’”

Prayer of Invocation and Lords’s Prayer (unison)
O God, light of the hearts that see you, life of the souls that love you, strength of the thoughts that seek you, we gather in this place waiting to hear your voice. We are listening; we await your Word. Speak to us, O God, then help us to both see and to do what we have seen and heard. We ask all of this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, and we offer the words that he taught us to use when we pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy
will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and
forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory
forever.  Amen.

Our altar flowers this morning are given by Jeff Chaffee in loving memory of
Marilyn Chaffee. Her birthday is May 2.

The prayer shawls in the sanctuary are here to be shared. They have been blessed
in their making and in our worship. If you know someone that is in need of comfort and prayer, please share a shawl with them.

Our sanctuary is equipped with a bi-polar ionization system which cleans germs and bacteria from the air as it circulates. If you are a little chilly because of the breeze blowing on you,
please know that it is warmer up in the balcony.
