Scott's Weekly Greeting, July 6, 2021 ...

I always love Vacation Bible School! I love the fact that a group of children spend an entire week with us singing, learning, laughing, playing, and exploring the Bible. It is an opportunity to spend more than just a few fleeting moments with them as is so often the case on Sunday morning. Vacation Bible School gives me the chance to get to know the children better, and they get the chance to get to know me a little bit better.

Today was Day One of our "Discovery on Adventure Island"!! The children were able to find the first infinity lantern ... as they learned that we should all shine with the light of Love. It was wonderful to hear their voices and to see their faces! It has been so long since we have been able to do this.

One of the other things that I love about Vacation Bible School is the group of youth and adult volunteers that make the program go. Very often, the adults and youth say that they get as much out of the week as the children do, and that is a wonderful thing! However, we would not be able to offer the children the VBS experience without our volunteers!! Thank you one and all!! You are truly a blessing!!

Speaking of blessings ... that will be our focus in our worship service on Sunday morning. The message, "Be a Blessing," will be based upon Ephesians 1:3-14. We will also experience the blessing of our summer pick-up choir!
