As we prepare for family gatherings tonight, tomorrow, the next day ... let us be mindful of that young couple so long ago. A couple visited by angels, a couple told that they would bear a son, a couple who were told that the child would be wonderful!

Let us be mindful of their strength and their faithfulness. Let us remember that they said “yes” and assumed the responsibility to raise a children that would be named “God Saves.”

As we celebrate the Child in the manger, may we honor that couple. May we model their strength. May we also bear the responsibility of bringing Christ into the world.
